How It Complements Junior Grapplers — Not Replaces It
Every child begins here, and many choose to stay here as their primary training path. It’s the heart of our kids’ program.
Black Belt Club is an optional, invitation‑based program for students who want to explore jiu‑jitsu more deeply. In BBC, students:
It’s not about being “better.” It’s about being ready for a different type of training experience.
Black Belt Club classes also generally omit animal warm-ups, circle time, and dodgeball.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that joining BBC means “moving on” from Junior Grapplers. That’s not the case at all.
BBC students are welcome to attend Junior Grapplers anytime they want.
Many do both, and it often accelerates their growth because they get the best of both worlds.
BBC is simply an additional opportunity — never a replacement.
We emphasize this to parents and students all the time:
Black Belt Club isn’t a “higher” or “elite” program.
It’s a different learning environment for kids who are excited about:
Some kids thrive in that setting. Others prefer the pace and structure of Junior Grapplers. Both choices are completely valid.
Our goal is to support each child’s journey, not push them into a path they’re not ready for.
It’s completely normal for kids to see the Black Belt Club in action and feel excited about it. Curiosity is a great sign — it means they’re engaged, motivated, and imagining what their jiu‑jitsu journey could look like.
If your child has expressed interest, here’s what we recommend:
The goal is never to rush a child into Black Belt Club. The goal is to help them develop the skills, maturity, and excitement that make the experience positive and empowering when the time is right.
Whether your child stays in Junior Grapplers, joins Black Belt Club, or does both, they’re part of a community that believes in them, supports them, and celebrates their progress. Every student’s journey is unique — and we’re honored to be part of it.
